The Social Center of S. Pedro do Afonsoeiro works in projects that aim to work with the young population and the elderly population of Parish, fighting social exclusion.
They have main 8 services - Home Support Service, Day Care, 2 Social Centers, Day Care, Support Service Youth, Childhood and Youth Home and Temporary Reception Center.
The Social Center of S. Pedro do Afonsoeiro has specialized residential responses in the scope of Children and Youth at Risk. The Temporary Reception Center "Sol dos Meninos", caters to 10 children and the Home for Children and Youth "Aberto Caminhos", which has recently evolved into a girls' home, welcomes young people, mostly between 14 and 18 years old, looking to build for and with these young women a life project that aims at their autonomy and a successful future.
